My name is Sean Hawkey and I'm a photographer and journalist. My work is often about humanitarian crises, aid, Fairtrade and climate change but whatever it's about, it's about people. I've spent ten years in Latin America and worked in a few other places besides. My work's been published in 150+ publications and exhibited widely. Before freelance photography I was a development project manager, I taught architecture and I ran communications for global NGOs. I have five children and I grow my own vegetables. I'm based in the UK, I'm working freelance and I'd love to talk about assignment ideas with you. You can also find me on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
Here's a recent BBC feature on some of my work written by Phil Coomes.
And, here's a photo of me, with a Tuareg leader in Niger. I'm the one on the right.
