My name is Sean Hawkey and I'm a photographer and journalist. A quick look at my archive will give you a good idea of the social focus and international scope of my work. My work has been featured in the New York Times, BBC, The Guardian, The Independent, NPR, PBS, the Morning Star, The Lancet, Nature, Science Journal and many other publications. My images have been used by 200+ organisations including Fairtrade networks, ACT Alliance, WHO, UNFCCC. My photographs have been exhibited as joint and solo exhibitions in Mexico, Colombia, Ireland, France, Germany, Austria, UK and Spain.
Before freelance photography I worked in international aid, I taught architecture and I ran communications for global NGOs. I'm based in the UK and I'm available for commissions and assignments.
And, here's a photo of me in Parliament, talking about a series of photos I took in Northern Kurdistan. Lord Rea is on the left and Derek Wall on the right. Thanks to Yasemin Kazan for the photograph.
