Herons, cranes and other wildlife in a palm-covered area of the Gran Chaco of Paraguay. Untouched natural habitat on traditional indigenous territories is being cut down on a huge scale in Paraguay to make way for commercial agriculture, much of which is foreign-owned. International giants such as Cargill and Monsanto for example have bought hundreds of millions of hectares for intensive GM soya and corn farming, mainly as food for livestock in countries like China.
