A store of supplies at the Holding Institute in Laredo, Texas, destined for distribution in shelters for asylum seekers in Nuevo Laredo. Nuevo Laredo has become extremely dangerous for asylum seekers being returned to Mexico under the MPP protocol, and it is ordinary for them to be picked up at the border, or in shelters, by criminal gangs to be extorted or worse. Typically the ransom is around $4000. One pastor who tried to protect asylum seekers in a shelter was taken by a gang and there has been no communication about his whereabouts since, it is presumed he has been killed. Another two pastors have also been kidnapped for ransom.
