Delfina Katip Tawan, leader of the Awajún people of Peru. "Indigenous people, and the environment that they take care of are threatened, directly threatened. Our lives are at risk. The forest is being destroyed by mining, by oil extraction, by logging, by ranchers cutting down forest to put cattle there. We all have to work together to look after the forests. At the moment we are in great danger, we are threatened. The forest is being destroyed and we are in danger. Climate change is just a result of that."
