Yanina Avila, 18, daughter of assassinated Tolupán indigenous leader José de Los Santos Sevilla, in the remote area of Montaña de la Flor in Honduras.
Yanina talks of her father's fear of encroaching mining and logging companies, and nearby ladinos who want to take Tolupán land, and how defenceless they are against them. While non-indigenous areas are deforested, the rivers dry or poisoned, the indigenous territories have woodland and fresh water in the rivers.
Eight Tolupán leaders have been assassinated in this area. Others have been assassinated in another Tolupán area in Yoro.
"My father died protecting this forest. They will carry on killing people who look after nature, maybe until we're all gone".
