SCINPA has 2,500 members with farms mainly between 5 and 10 hectares. Their members earn around 90% of their income from cocoa and their harvests have recently been badly affected by climate change and drought. The coop is using Fairtrade premium payments for building schools, to help eliminate child labour in the area, and they hope to provide potable water to all the local villages in the future.

  • We have strict banana standards to uphold. There are two different banana sizing tools, this one is the tougher one, it's the banana inspector's tool, the final test before packing. Bananas can't be thicker than 46mm, or thinner than 38mm. If they don't pass the test, they go into the pulping pile, to be made into banana paste for smoothies and an extensive array of banana-flavoured things.
